“I got my degree in Geology at the University of Texas. I sat oil wells for a while, but I wanted to do something more social. I was interested in food, so I looked into restaurants and cafes, found a location, consulted with my uncle and asked if he’d help me. We partnered and opened a restaurant: no experience, I just learned from my employees. Today, Backstreet Cafe is 37 years old."
